FANIME!!! It was awesome. There were so many gorgeous costumes and so many terrible costumes. I hugged someone dressed as Finn and someone dressed as PB. I didn't end up going in costume, because the person I was going to go with had said she couldn't do it, but then two days before it turned out she could. It was SO awesome. We spent most of the time looking around at the gorgeous arts, and I even saw yuumei.deviantart.com/ . Next year we will make the costumes in time, and we will be the most amazing Fiona and Cake ever.
I only have about a week of school left. I've really not been focusing on art lately, and normally a lack of school would give me more time to practice and draw and paint, but I'm going to be pretty busy this summer, so no promises. I still want to work more on that 100 picture challenge thing mudddkipz.deviantart.com/journ… , and I'll probably be doing some art class. I'd love to work on my drawing, especially drawing people. Especially painting people.
I've been reading tons of Discworld books, and they are just wonderful. Anyone who has never picked up a book by Terry Pratchett should go to the nearest library right now and ask if they have any discworld books. They're silly and fantastic and chalk full of wordplay. The characters are wonderful and hilarious and not at all the perfect heroes or even the perfect villains. You have Vetinari, the Patrician of Ankh Morpork, who is a dictator who has organized the crime in the city so that you have to leave receipts when you steal anything, and there are the trolls, which are made of rock and offer a great nonhuman perspective. Then of course the Luggage, who can break diamond and will stare at you with contempt if you don't believe that. Yes, it's keyhole will be very contemptuous. Anyway, you get the point. They're wonderful books and well worth a read. You don't need to read them in order at all, although it's good to start with The Color of Magic, because it has lots of travel and sort of maps out the Disc for new readers.
Finally, to conclude, here are some awesome links.

Almost April
Firstly, I want to state that the reason that I haven't been uploading any art lately is that I am simply too lazy to scan everything. I found a sketchbook under some stuff near my bookshelf that I had barely used, so I've been trying to fill it up with doodles and drawings. so far I've only filled up about six pages. It's much bigger that my sketchbooks I've had in the past. I'll still be painting, and I'll still be trying to do the 100 picture challenge, but for now I've just been doodling for the most part and I've only got a few things worth putting up here. I've been making a ton of little sculpey things, but I'm not sure if I should upl
Happy February!
So! I'm actually doing the 100 picture challenge, which I think is a pretty exciting thing. I was pretty much out of yellow paint for awhile there, but I got MORE! And I got grey too because they had it there and I was thinking, hmm, I've never used grey paint before. The yellow I got is cadmium yellow, so it's got a warning on the side to not apply by spraying because the element cadmium has been known to cause cancer when inhaled. Pretty scary, haha. I feel like I've really been improving with watercolors lately, even if the stuff I make isn't perfect.
In other terrible news, my terrible new math teacher decided to tell us a terrible joke
100 Picture Challenge
I thought I'd give this a try, because I feel like I don't practice drawing enough recently, and this seems like good motivation.

A (sort of) Fresh Start
I just went through my gallery and deleted everything I don't want to look at and moved much of what remained to scraps. I just felt like I had too much stuff up here that I wasn't proud of, and it felt really good to clean my gallery out. I love to organize and sort things, it's part of my nature. The only problem is that my extreme distractiveness counteracts any organizational skills that might give me :P There are rare times, though, when I can make myself just sit down and sort through something, and that is just a really soothing feeling for me. I also deleted all of my previous journals, so at least I am really starting fresh with this
